Prescribing Lifestyle Medicine Community Guidelines

Purpose

The PLM Community is for those with a current subscription to the Prescribing Lifestyle Medicine product provided by Practice Unbound.  This community is intended to facilitate:

  • connection and networking opportunities between subscribers with other like-minded practitioners internationally
  • peer to peer support throughout learning and implementation
  • the building of communities of practice to form around specific interests or roles
  • a social movement around a personalised, lifestyle approach to health and wellness
  • sharing of “lifestyle medicine” ideas, resources and outcomes
  • real time feedback to build to expand and improve the Prescribing Lifestyle Medicine product via dedicated feedback spaces within the community.

To enable a meaningful, respectful, and safe community we have created our community guidelines, which lays out to all subscribers the type of content we encourage and equally, the type of content we will not tolerate.    Entering and being accepted as part of this community means that you accept these guidelines and agree to abide by them.  We have Community Managers in place that regularly monitor what is shared on this group community, but we rely on subscriber reporting of inappropriate content to optimise subscriber experience here so if something doesn’t feel right, please report it to us.

You can report content like this:

Community reporting

Any member can report a post by hovering over the three dots and clicking "Report".

Here are our principles that shape our community guidelines:

Respect

Whilst we encourage healthy debate and discussion, we ask you to conduct these debates respectfully.  If you disagree with someone, try to understand and share their feelings before you address them. This will promote a respectful and friendly atmosphere where people feel comfortable asking questions, participating in discussions, and making contributions. Try to use clear language and think about how it will be received by the other person.

To enrich the community, when asking questions or replying to others, we ask that you draw upon your own experiences or link to credible research sites or papers.  When citing your own opinions not based on experience or fact, please refer to it as such.

We have a zero-tolerance policy against hate speech and content.  Posting about, or engaging in, hate speech will result in immediate expulsion from the Prescribing Lifestyle Medicine community.  Subscribers removed from the community will not be entitled to a refund, either in full or in part, as a result of their expulsion.

Hate speech is defined as any content promoting violence or hatred against individuals or groups based on any of the following attributes:

  • Age
  • Caste
  • Disability
  • Ethnicity
  • Gender Identity and Expression
  • Nationality
  • Race
  • Immigration Status
  • Religion
  • Sex/Gender
  • Sexual Orientation
  • Victims of a major violent event and their kin
  • Veteran status
  • Professional status

If you find content that violates this policy, please report it to by clicking on the three dots and reporting a post.  If you would like to report repeated breaches of these guidelines or if you have concerns over a particular user then you can report it to our helpdesk team by emailing support@practiceunbound.org.uk or calling 0300 303 8145.

Safe and Legal

We permit you to use this community for seeking advice or sharing best practice on individual patient cases.  However, when posting about patient cases we ask you to anonymise details.  We also gently remind subscribers that they should not rely on the community for clinical knowledge; it is here to enhance and enrich practice by way of shared experiences.

We ask that subscribers respect each-others privacy and do not share information that is private or sensitive in nature and respect other subscribers intellectual property.

Spamming, posting promotional material or posting links to third party websites for the purposes of self-promotion or monetary gain is not permitted.

The education and allied materials provided through the Prescribing Lifestyle Medicine Course (PLM) are covered by various copyrights and we ask that in using these that you respect the ‘Fair Dealing & Fair Use’ principles detailed in the Terms and Conditions of the Prescribing Lifestyle Medicine Product when referring to the materials in this community space.

Consequences

We will take swift and decisive action when we see someone violating these guidelines. Sometimes that just means giving someone a warning; other times it means revoking certain privileges or accounts entirely. We request that all community members report behaviour that violates our guidelines by reporting specific posts by clicking  on the three dots next to it and clicking ‘Report’ or click here to report issues directly to our team.
